Prompt: Thanksgiving is a time for giving thanks and spending time with family over a nice dinner. Write about your most unforgettable meal.

Prompt: My most unforgettable meal was probably the first time I've ever had calamari I don't know why it's so clear in my mind. It was in Florida at an establishment called the Flying Pelican, and it was an appetizer before I had lobster mac and cheese.

Prompt: Write about a time when you realized you needed to look out for yourself in a silly or harmless situation—maybe dodging a pop quiz, escaping a group chat argument, or remembering at the last second to submit an assignment. How did choosing wisely make your life easier?

Prompt: I'm currently working through a majority of my missing assignments, which is a way of looking out for myself.

Prompt: Describe a time that you had an encounter with a homeless person, either directly or indirectly. What did you think and how did it make you feel?

Prompt: Every time I visit my dad's house, I see a homeless man under a bridge. He has a tent with pigeon poop all over it. He walks down to pan on an intersection, and sometimes my dad gives a twenty-dollar bill. I stopped seeing him during the COVID-19 pandemic, and I wonder how he is from time to time.

Prompt: Write about what you are thankful for.

Prompt: I am incredibly thankful for the fact that I am in a first-world country. Where I can have a hot meal every night and go to a bed I know is safe. Then wake up and go to a school where I have an opportunity to learn for a future that I might be able to make just a little better before leaving. Summary: Vocab Reflection: The vocabulary was bland but generally ok.

Thinking about "The Rockpile," what is something your parents forbade you from doing when you were growing up? Explain what it was and why they might have set that rule.

Blog: Something that was forbidden when I was growing up was saying swear words. My mom set that rule to prevent me from being crude and rude.  Summary: We did vocabulary, and Mr. Reese showed AI videos of himself as a vampire.  Reflection: I don't like AI, so I found the video less funny.

Words shape how we think, write, and interpret literature. Think about a time when learning a new word or understanding a specific term helped you better analyze a text, express an idea, or make your writing stronger.

Prompt: A time when learning new words helped with my reading comprehension was when  I was reading Blood Meridian. The old-timey language was hard to read, but after looking up terms and items, it became a lot easier to understand, and I ended up being able to enjoy the book.  Summary: We did vocabulary, and Mr. Reese showed AI videos of himself as a vampire.  Reflection: I don't like AI, so I found the video less funny.

Thinking about “The Rockpile,” which parent or guardian in your life has been the strictest when it comes to discipline? Explain how their approach to discipline has influenced you or shaped your behavior.

Prompt: My strictest parent is my mother.  Her discipline is based on the day, and if she is feeling like crashing out. This has affected me negatively because children thrive on stability, which was something children thrived on.  Summary: We continued to discuss  "The Rockpile" and work on presentations. Reflections: I enjoyed "the rockpile and working in our groups. `
